What Is an HPL Sandwich Panel?

HPL — high-pressure laminate, also called melamine resin panel — is 4 mm thick and built from more than 40 layers of paper impregnated with melamine and phenolic resin, cured under high heat and pressure into one dense, solid sheet. As a panel facing it delivers excellent fire resistance and thermal insulation, plus corrosion resistance, impact resistance, a good decorative surface and availability in multiple colors. The HPL sandwich panel bonds this laminate to an insulated core, giving a hygienic, low-maintenance wall or ceiling. The same material is used for our HPL cleanroom door and HPL ceiling system.

Inside the HPL Laminate — 40+ Layers

① Overlay — clear melamine wear layer; scratch & chemical resistant
Decorative paper — color / pattern
② Decor layer — defines the finished color, multiple options
40+ kraft layers · phenolic resin
③ Core papers — 4 mm total, cured under high heat & pressure
Solid, non-porous Fire resistant Thermal insulation Impact resistant

The 4 mm HPL face is then bonded to an insulated core (PIR, rock wool or honeycomb) to form the finished sandwich panel.

Technical Insights & FAQ

What is HPL and how is it made?

HPL (high-pressure laminate / melamine resin panel) is 4 mm thick and made from more than 40 layers of paper impregnated with melamine and phenolic resin, cured under high heat and pressure into one solid, durable sheet.

Is HPL fire resistant?

Yes. HPL offers excellent fire resistance along with thermal insulation. For projects with strict fire codes we can pair the HPL face with a non-combustible rock wool or MGO core.

How chemical- and scratch-resistant is the surface?

The melamine overlay gives strong corrosion, chemical, scratch and impact resistance, and the non-porous surface is easy to disinfect — well suited to labs, hospitals and food facilities.

What colors are available?

HPL comes in multiple colors and wood grains — popular cleanroom shades include swan white, snow white, coconut white, ivory, soft pink, sea green and light blue. Request a color card for exact shades; custom colors are available.

When should I choose HPL over a metal facing?

Choose HPL when you want a decorative, color-rich, highly chemical- and scratch-resistant, easy-to-disinfect surface — typical in labs, hospitals and medical or food environments. Metal facings suit general industrial cleanrooms.

Can HPL be used for ceilings and doors too?

Yes. The same HPL is used for our HPL ceiling system and HPL door, so walls, ceilings and doors can share one consistent finish.

clean room wall panels

Ventilate sandwich panel

System Overview A ventilate sandwich panel is a modular cleanroom return air panel engineered to organize airflow direction and support integrated fresh-air circulation without external ductwork. Positioned at the lower part of the workshop, it channels air in the same direction as particle settlement, ensuring dust and contaminants are carried directly to the return air outlet. Built as a modular sandwich structure and available in louver, grate-hole, mesh-plate, orifice-plate, and mushroom-outlet configurations, it integrates with fresh-air circulation and filtration systems to maintain consistent air quality across general cleanroom workshops. Key architectural advantages include: Unified Airflow Direction: Return air outlets are positioned in the lower zone of the workshop so airflow matches the natural settling direction of dust particles, maximizing removal efficiency. Integrated Air Channels: Air distribution pathways are built into the panel structure, eliminating external ductwork, saving overhead space, and reducing static electricity build-up. Cross-Contamination Prevention: High filter efficiency at the return air outlet supports fresh-air circulation and blocks pollutant migration between adjacent cleanroom workshops.

Soundproof panel

System Overview A soundproof panel is an acoustic-insulation panel engineered to control noise transmission in industrial and commercial settings. A micro-perforated metal facing sits over a high-density mineral wool or fiberglass core in a sealed, layered construction, allowing the panel to both absorb sound energy (NRC / α) and block its transmission (Rw / STC) in a single build. Available in customizable perforation patterns, thicknesses, and finishes, it dampens both airborne and impact noise while maintaining thermal and structural performance, integrating seamlessly with cleanroom wall and ceiling systems for laboratories, studios, and production areas. Key architectural advantages include: Dual Acoustic Function: The perforated face absorbs sound energy to reduce echo, while the dense, sealed core blocks transmission to the adjacent space. Tunable Core Performance: A non-combustible mineral wool or fiberglass core is matched to your target frequency, with Rw / NRC / STC ratings confirmed per configuration. Sealed, Flanking-Free Construction: An aluminum edge frame and airtight joints prevent leaks that would otherwise short-circuit acoustic performance.
