Silica Rock cleanroom panel

System Overview

A Silica Rock Cleanroom Panel bonds two coated-steel facings to a rigid, inorganic silica rock (silicon crystal) core — an A-grade fireproof, moisture-proof and high-strength cleanroom wall and ceiling panel made to a ≤ 2 mm/2 m flatness tolerance. Key advantages:

  • A-Grade Fireproof: Non-combustible mineral core, no droplets or heavy smoke under fire.
  • Moisture-Proof: Water absorption ≤ 5% — does not swell, far better than ordinary rock wool in damp areas.
  • Rigid & Strong: Hard, high-density board with strong impact and compressive resistance.

What Is a Silica Rock Cleanroom Panel?

A silica rock cleanroom panel — also called a silicon crystal panel — is a metal sandwich panel built on a rigid inorganic core pressed from silica (silicon dioxide / quartz), magnesium oxysulfate and inorganic binders. Bonded between two color-coated steel facings, the core is A-grade non-combustible, hard and dimensionally stable. It delivers the fire safety of a mineral board with markedly better moisture resistance and surface strength, making it a cost-effective A-grade choice for cleanroom walls and ceilings.

Because the silica core absorbs almost no water (water absorption ≤ 5%), it will not swell, soften or lose strength in humid and wash-down areas where ordinary rock wool can underperform. Its high hardness also resists impact and trolley knocks. Where the lowest thermal conductivity is essential, rock wool or the all-inorganic MgO rock wool panel remain options; silica rock is chosen for fire safety, moisture resistance and strength at competitive cost.

Part of Wonclean's cleanroom sandwich panel family, the silica rock panel pairs with matching ceiling systems and cleanroom doors and windows for a fully sealed, flush cleanroom wall system.

Expert FAQ on Silica Rock Cleanroom Panels

What is the silica rock core made of?

The core is a rigid inorganic board pressed from silica (silicon dioxide / quartz), magnesium oxysulfate and inorganic binders. Being mineral-based, it is non-combustible, does not rot, and holds its shape — combining fire safety with high hardness and water resistance.

What is the fire rating, and can you supply certificates?

The silica rock core is A-grade non-combustible, with fire resistance of roughly 0.8 h at 50 mm to 1.2 h at 100 mm, producing no flaming droplets and little smoke. We supply third-party fire test reports and certificates to EN 13501-1 / GB 8624, plus ISO 9001 and CE, on request.

How is silica rock different from a rock wool panel?

Both are A-grade non-combustible, but the silica rock core absorbs almost no water (≤ 5%) and is much harder and more rigid, so it performs better in damp, wash-down or impact-prone areas. Rock wool offers better thermal and acoustic insulation, so the right choice depends on whether moisture/strength or insulation leads your requirement — see the rock wool panel.

Is it suitable for humid or wash-down cleanrooms?

Yes — this is its key strength. With water absorption ≤ 5% the core does not swell, soften or lose strength in humidity or frequent washing, making it well suited to pharmaceutical wash areas, food plants and below-grade or damp spaces.

Which thickness, facing and color are available?

Standard 50 mm with 75 / 100 / 150 mm and custom thicknesses, faced with top-brand pre-painted steel (stainless available) in RAL or custom colors, made to ≤ 2 mm/2 m flatness. A single project uses the same steel coil batch for color consistency.

What are the lead time and minimum order?

Sample/small orders typically ship in 10–15 days and a full container in about 20–25 days from Shanghai. Steel gauge, color, thickness and certificates are made to order — send your panel schedule and we will confirm exact MOQ, lead time and FOB/CIF/DDP pricing.
